Chris Cornell's deep & often disturbing lyrics - with their images of a distressed, tortured world/soul - have a notable air of authenticity & honesty which is reinforced by his outstanding voice & vocal delivery & backed up by Kim Tayil's excellently minimalistic guitar style, the perfect vehicle for these songs. Supergroup Audioslave helped lift him to another level again. The man's music will stand the test of time...
