The state of humanity & the world now, the constant stream of terrifying prophecies of impending near future doom and the major ecological & human setbacks implicit in recent election results & political decisions, the general sense of impending disaster and man's unwillingness to get on the right track (resisting meaningful change while clinging on to their consumerism & supposed material comfort, leads some of us back to seeking escape & solace once again in science fiction. The search for Utopia, a more hospitible world, an enlighened society, a moral (non capitalist) realism... Hawkwind and Michael Moorcock got it spot on back then in the mid-70s -- We are SO tired at the Edge of Time.... Where is our Champion, where are our leaders??? we scream....
