Stoned Folk

STONED FOLK Folky psychedelic rock selection for all the terminal stoners out there. A nod back to all those halycon years hanging out getting nicely mellow on a regular basis hehe.... From folk to blues to rock the mix is naturally heavy on late-60's to mid-70's music but there are a number of more recent tracks sprinkled in & about... A nod to the 1970's when people still believed in coming together in the possibility of aspiring for a better world. We were so close to popular culture driving common debate, think John Lennon, Bob Marley, Marvin Gaye, Nelson Mandela, Muhammed Ali, kids TV shows like Rainbow & Seseme Street, ...and it was all then snatched away from under our feet, labelled first as outdated & now woke .     ^^stream & download^^ TAP PLAY TWICE or tap the logo^^   Leading with the likes of Hawkwind , Gong , The Incredible String Band , The Doors ,  Grateful Dead and an old favourite, the underrated Quintessence , the mix ebbs, flows...

Folk Rock Mixtape A Well That Never Runs Dry The usual blend of the old with the newer as stone-cold classics rub shoulders with a lot of newer material. Positive music for good vibes.    ^^stream & download^^ TAP PLAY TWICE^^ We kick off with some vintage Neil Young from back in 1968. 3 his first solo efforts from after Buffalo Springfield split and UK band Unicorn chip in with an early Young cover also. Its always a good time to hear some Bob Dylan so we revisit 3 blazing mid-70's songs from the man as well as a couple of covers by  Roy Harper and Fairport Convention  with  Sandy Denny . Two more heavyweight 70's cuts from Fairport with the Bonny Bunch of Roses & Polly on the Shore . Robert Plant blazes hot on Little Maggie & a very original take of  One More Cup of Coffee , while Darkness Darkness is a sonic tour de force. Eliza Carthy also rocks out with Devil in the Woman and 2 other tracks, including live selections from the Oyst...
