Blend of Irish, Scottish, English and American folky sounds. Songs from Linda Thompson's excellent 2002 LP Fashionably Late. An exploration of some inspirational Jethro Tull tracks from the late-1970's Heavy Horses era, including three brilliant studio outtakes that never ought to have been left on cutting floor. Glaswegian band The Humblebums were formed in 1965 by Billy Connolly & Tam Harvey and were later joined by Gerry Rafferty. The band continued until 1971 when they split to pursue solo projects. Connolly in particular went to to enjoy a stellar career in stand-up comedy, television & acting. Three memorable humorous-but-serious songs included here. Multitalented brothers Robin & Barry Dransfield performed as a duo during the 1st half of the 1970's, releasing three varied traditional folk albums. Three more cool, quality interpretations of classic favourites by Gillian Welch & David Rawlings. The influence of Bob Dylan east & west of the pond is inestimable. Here he is with his early 70's folky western vibes. A few covers of songs that Dylan has been known for by Ralph McTell, Gillian Welch & Show of Hands. Show of Hands classic The Galway Farmer is here as well as a steaming cover Boz Scraggs' King of El Paso. Tracks by Eliza Gilkyson from 1997. Two classics from Neil Young and more great sounds from Bert Jansch, John Renbourn, Archie Fisher and many others.
