Chris Cornell's deep & often disturbing lyrics - with their images of a distressed, tortured world/soul - have a notable air of authenticity & honesty which is reinforced by his outstanding voice & vocal delivery & backed up by Kim Tayil's excellently minimalistic guitar style, the perfect vehicle for these songs.
